TCL system consisting of analyzer, sensor, cable, mounting plate and flow controller for detection of dissolved chlorine in water

TCL model is designed for long-term determination of chlorine in water. TCL model consists of sample preparation system (including reagents tanks), sensor and analyzer. TCL model is a sample conditioning system allowing to measure total chlorine content in water using one sensor. Sample conditioning system constantly injects acetic acid solution and potassium iodide. Acid reduces pH to 3.5 – 4.5 and ensures quantitative reaction of total chlorine in sample with potassium iodide producing iodine. Sensor take measurement of iodine concentration, while analyzer displays total concentration of oxidizing material in ppm as Cl2 TCL Model can be also used for measurement of chlorinated sea water. Sea water contains approx. 50 ppm of bromine. When chlorine in a form of sodium hypochlorite or chlorine gas is mixed with sea water, chlorine reacts with bromine producing mixtures of bromine oxidizers, mainly hypobromous acid. In TCL hypobromous acid easily oxidizes iodides to iodine.
